Information on how much luggage you can bring on board CrossCountry trains.
To help make your journey easier, we have dedicated space available on board for your luggage. In response to your feedback, we've increased the amount of luggage space available on many of our trains. We have now completed the installation of extra luggage space in Coach D on our Voyager train fleet, which operate the majority of our long-distance services.
In line with the National Rail Conditions of Carriage, and to make your journey as smooth as possible, some important conditions still apply regarding how much luggage you can bring on CrossCountry trains.
For your own comfort and safety, you are strongly advised not to bring more luggage than you can comfortably carry yourself. Before you travel, make sure you're aware of the restrictions below when packing:
- Only take a maximum of three items of luggage onto the train*, consisting of the following:
> Two larger items such as a suitcase or rucksack (dimensions not exceeding 90 x 70 x 30cm or weighing more than 50kg)
> One smaller item such as a briefcase
When you make your journey, please be aware of the following advice:
- Use luggage storage spaces at the end of the carriage, in overhead racks and under seats, making sure doorways, aisles and areas dedicated for wheelchairs are kept clear
- Keep your luggage with you at all times when at stations to avoid unnecessary security alerts and potential delays to services
