CrossCountry driver wins photo of the year prize

Monday 16 January 2012

The Arriva Photo of the Year 2011, judged by transport magazine New Transit, has been awarded to Edinburgh-based CrossCountry driver Stephen Gorman.

Stephen beat hundreds of entrants from across Europe with his stunning photo of a Voyager near Ballencrieff, Scotland, which has helped him win a total £675.00 in this year's competition.

In making their decision judges at transport magazine New Transit said "We felt that the impression of the train powering through the snow at a time when transport in many parts of the country was at a standstill conveyed the strength of the rail network. And of course the picture captured perfectly the glorious surroundings that can make travelling by train a real joy."
