Led by the company's Assistant Finance Manager, Vicki Green, the 16-strong team ran the 5km round Sandwell Park Farm in gruelling 29c heat alongside thousands of other fundraisers. The CrossCountry team have so far managed to raise £260.00.

Vicki, 39, from West Bromwich, who has now fully recovered after being diagnosed with breast
cancer in 2005, said: "There is an overwhelming sense of pride in taking part in Race for Life and for me personally, the event gives an amazing opportunity to raise vital funds to cure cancer faster whilst trying to reduce the risk of cancer amongst other women."

Vicki added: "Not only does Race for Life raise awareness of cancer, but it also offers many
women the perfect opportunity to start taking regular exercise and maintain a healthy body weight. I'm also delighted that I managed to beat my personal best time by completing the run in 55 minutes, no mean feat on what was a roasting hot day!"

The CrossCountry employees taking part in Race for Life all wore pink, limited-edition CrossCountry t-shirts which were donated by the company.

Cancer Research UK's vision is to conquer cancer through world-class research. Their official website is available through www.cancerresearchuk.org.
