With just over 125,000 downloads since its launch in September 2009, CrossCountry's 'Train Search' app for the Apple iPhone is proving to be one of the most popular rail travel apps within the UK.
The popular and free real time app provides iPhone users with instant access to live train times for any UK rail journey, timetables and the clever 'current position' feature which identifies the nearest, most accessible station. Users can also store and save their regular or favourite rail routes.
iPhone users across the UK have widely praised the CrossCountry app with an array of comments like: "So easy to use and convenient and it's FREE"; "Works great, and saves me loads of time"; "how an app should be. Saves time, effort and money" and "Bravo cross country trains, great job."
CrossCountry's Managing Director, Andy Cooper said: "We aim to make train information available to as many people as possible - especially those on the move. Our iPhone app does just that and we're obviously delighted to see over 10,000 downloads each month since the app was launched. Using technology to improve customers' travel experiences is a priority for us and the iPhone app not only achieves that, but makes using and understanding the UK rail network so much easier and accessible."
