Launched this week by CrossCountry, Britain's largest rail franchise, this real time train information application is designed to help customers search for train times for any UK rail journey, and has already become the 4th most downloaded free travel application in the UK in less than one week.
The application allows users instant access to live train times, so they can see what time their train will arrive and plan their connections. Timetables will show calling points, changes and platform numbers and users can also use the 'current position' feature to identify their nearest station, view a map to get directions to that station and even store and save favourite routes.
CrossCountry's Managing Director, Andy Cooper, said: "What's great about this new free application is that it makes train information even more accessible for people on the move. Whether you're having lunch, on your way to a meeting or heading back towards the train station after a long day, just by reaching for your iPhone you can now plan your next train journey."
"Using technology to improve customers' travel experiences has been a priority for CrossCountry. This free iPhone app, together with our new website and Facebook presence shows we are determined to embrace online products and innovations to make rail travel easier, by providing more information and effortless online purchasing."
iPhone users can now download 'Train Search' absolutely free via the iPhone Apps Store or Itunes App Store. A version of the application is available for other mobile phones, PDAs and Blackberrys®, which can be downloaded free from crosscountrytrains.co.uk
You can go to our Mobile App page for more information.
