Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is a firm fixture in the city’s annual calendar and, together with the neighbouring Christmas Craft market, a massive favourite with both residents and visitors to the city from across the UK and Europe. This year’s Lantern Procession will be taking place on Thursday 1 December from 6pm – 8pm in the Cathedral Outer Close. It is a great event for all the family whether you participate or come as a spectator. The procession of colourful handmade paper and willow lanterns will leave the Cathedral at 6pm and parades around the Outer Close. The celebrations include live music, congregational carols and conclude with fireworks. All welcome.
This year's Christmas Market will run from Saturday 19th November until Sunday 18th December. The Cathedral Green, at the heart of the city centre, will be brought to life by this special seasonal Market, with stalls offering unique, handmade and unusual gifts, decorations and food items – everything needed for a perfect Christmas celebration and to create a real Christmas buzz at the heart of the city.
The main attraction at Southampton is the twice-daily show of “The Flying Santa”. He will fly over the market in his sleigh with his reindeer at a height of 35m and at the end will hand out a small present to each child.
