Industrial action during December.
Unfortunately, the RMT union has called a number of strikes for December (the next scheduled dates are Saturday 23 December, Sunday 24 December, Wednesday 27 December and Sunday 31 December.) that will significantly affect CrossCountry train services. We will be operating a reduced service but running some longer trains. Amended timetables will be confirmed nearer to each strike day, so please keep checking this page for details before using any on-line journey planners. Click here for the latest information.

Unlike other train operators, we don’t charge a booking fee and Advance tickets come with seat reservations to keep your journey running smoothly.
*Applies to CrossCountry journeys only. Average saving calculated by comparing Advance standard single ticket prices, purchased before the day of travel, for 4,870 CrossCountry journeys, to the equivalent price of an Anytime standard single ticket valid on our services. This saving on average across all ticket costs is 70%. The attached word document substantiates the 70% statement used throughout Marketing and PR activity. Advance fares are subject to availability, terms and conditions apply. Please see website for full details.
*Tickets collected from the station, a ticket machine, or sent by post can be changed with no administration fee. You can change your ticket two hours after purchasing and up to 24 hours before you are due to travel. Print your own tickets and m-tickets (via our Train tickets app) cannot be changed. If your new ticket is more expensive than your original, you will be charged the difference. Find out more here.
