Due to significant disruption on GWR, TransPennine Express & LNER services, our services are expected to be busier than usual today. All our services will continue to operate as planned. We are doing everything we can to accommodate passengers. Additional services have been put in place to support GWR on 10 May. Update: Weekend Upgrades

Our weekend upgrades are currently not available to purchase whilst on board. We hope to be able to reinstate this in the near future.

Enjoy the benefits of First Class travel from as little as £5 one-way.

Reasons to upgrade to First Class:

  • Unwind and enjoy larger reclining seats
  • Spread out with extra table space
  • Enjoy complimentary hot and cold drinks and light snacks*

*Food and drink is subject to availability and is not available on all services. Please check the First Class food and drink page for more information.

Buying online

Weekend Upgrades can be purchased online. Just look out for the ‘upgr’ message under the ticket price when you search for trains.

Please note that Child and Railcard discounts do not apply.

Also, note that customers holding Standard Advance tickets are not eligible for the First Class upgrade. We suggest you purchase an Advance First ticket for your journey if you are looking to travel in First Class.
