    Description

    A broken down train between Glasgow Central and Motherwell means some lines are blocked. Train services running between these station may be cancelled or dleyed by up to 30 minutes.

    Disruption is expected until 14:00.

    Improvement work in the Bristol area until 07:20 on Saturday 11 May

    CrossCountry between Plymouth, Bristol and Manchester / Edinburgh / Glasgow

    Great Western Railway between Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth, Severn Beach, Penzance, between Portsmouth Harbour and Cardiff Central and between London Paddington and Swansea / Cardiff

    Description

    Major improvement work is taking place in the Bristol area, resulting in all lines through Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway being closed until 07:20 on Saturday 11 May

      Until 07:20, there will be no trains to or from Bristol Parkway or Bristol Temple Meads.

    CrossCountry

    Early morning services via Bristol will be replaced by buses between Taunton, Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway / Gloucester.

    Great Western Railway:

    Services between Cardiff and Portsmouth will not run between Severn Tunnel Junction and Westbury. Buses will replace trains between these stations. Buses will depart earlier than the usual train times in order to connect with trains at Severn Tunnel Junction and Westbury.

    An amended service will run between Swansea, Cardiff and Bristol / London. Some services will be cancelled or amended to start / terminate at a different station than usual. Some services will be replaced by buses between Newport / Severn Tunnel Junction and Bristol / Swindon.

    Buses will replace trains between Bristol Temple Meads and Avonmouth.

    Services between Bristol and Taunton / Plymouth / Penzance will be cancelled or amended to start / terminate at Weston-super-Mare. Buses will run between Bristol Temple Meads and Weston-super-Mare in place of some cancelled services.

    Buses replace trains between Edinburgh and Carlisle / Glasgow via Carstairs from 11:30 on Saturday 11 until 14:30 on Sunday 12 May

    TransPennine Express between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central and Manchester Airport

    Virgin Trains between Edinburgh / Glasgow Central and London Euston

    Description

    Engineering work is taking place between Livingston South and Edinburgh, closing all lines.

    CrossCountry

    Buses will replace trains between Edinburgh and Motherwell.

    ScotRail

    Buses replace trains between Shotts / Carstairs and Edinburgh.

    TransPennine Express

    From 11:30 on Saturday to 14:30 on Sunday

    Coaches will replace trains between Carlisle and Edinburgh calling at Lockerbie with journey times extended by approx 85 minutes.

    Note: there will be no coaches at Haymarket - customers should use Edinburgh Waverley instead.

    Virgin Trains will be providing replacement coaches between Carlisle and Glasgow Central with selected services calling at Lockerbie. Journey times will extended by approx 55 minutes.

    Customers to / from Motherwell will need to travel via Glasgow Central using alternative services provided by Scotrail. 

    On Sunday, the 15:14 Glasgow Central to Manchester Airport service will not run. 

    Virgin Trains

    Services between London Euston and Glasgow Central will be amended to run between London Euston and Carlisle only. Services to Scotland that run via Birmingham will be amended to terminate at and start back from Preston. Buses will run between Carlisle and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh.

    On Saturday, the last trains to run to and from Scotland will be the 07:15 Birmingham New Street to Glasgow Central and the 10:00 Glasgow Central to London Euston.

    On Sunday, the first trains to run to and from Scotland will be 10:46 London Euston to Glasgow Central and the 13:55 Glasgow Central to London Euston.

    Description

    Engineering work is taking place between Cheltenham Spa and Birmingham New Street, closing the lines used by CrossCountry services.

    Saturday - An amended service will run between:

    • Plymouth and Manchester Piccadilly
    • Birmingham New Street and Scotland
    • Cardiff Central and Cheltenham Spa
    • Birmingham New Street and Nottingham

    Trains will be diverted via an alternative route between Cheltenham and Birmingham, extending journey times by 30 minutes.

    Sunday - and amended service will run between:

    • Plymouth and Scotland
    • Birmingham New Street and Manchester Piccadilly
    • Cardiff Central and Birmingham New Street

    Trains will be diverted via an alternative route between Cheltenham and Birmingham, extending journey times by one hour.

    Buses replace trains between Basingstoke and Winchester / Southampton / Fareham on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 May

    CrossCountry between Newcastle / Leeds / Manchester Piccadilly / Nottingham / Birmingham New Street and Southampton Central / Bournemouth

    South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Portsmouth Harbour / Southampton Central / Poole / Weymouth  and between Romsey and Salisbury via Southampton

    Description

    Engineering work is taking place between Basingstoke and Winchester on Saturday and between Basingstoke and St Denys on Sunday, closing all lines.

    CrossCountry

    Trains will divert between Basingstoke and Southampton Central, and will be unable to call at Winchester and Southampton Airport Parkway. Journey times will be extended by up to 45 minutes.

    Customers may use replacement buses between Basingstoke and Winchester / Southampton Central provided by South Western Railway.

    On Sunday, trains will start / terminate at Southampton Central. Alternative train services will be available between Southampton Central and Bournemouth.

    South Western Railway

    On Saturday, buses will replace trains between Basingstoke and Winchester.

    On Sunday, buses will replace trains between Basingstoke and Southampton Central / Fareham and also between Southampton Central and Romsey.

    Some services between London Waterloo and Weymouth / Portsmouth that usually run via Winchester will be diverted via Havant.
