    Transport for Wales

    Routes affected

Between Llandudno Junction / Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog

    Description

Following severe weather events on Friday 15 and Saturday 16 March, damage has occurred to the infrastructure in multiple locations along the Conwy Valley line. Trains are currently unable to run between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The line is expected to reopen in the summer, although an exact date has yet to be confirmed.

How does this affect my journey?

Until the line reopens, buses will replace trains between Llandudno Junction and Blaenau Ffestiniog.

The line remains closed as significant repair work is being undertaken. Specialist engineers have been busy designing a tunnel to carry water underneath the railway, constructing embankments, removing debris and refurbishing level crossings, in order to safely restore the track.

You can view images of the damage here.

    Bus information:

The buses will reflect the normal train timetable, subject to traffic conditions. Customers with restricted mobility and bus accessibility restrictions (e.g. wheelchairs or mobility scooters) will be provided with special transport arrangements. We strongly advise that such customers contact Transport for Wales as far in advance of planned journeys as possible.

You can find the location of your bus replacement by checking station signs or by searching for your station on our station information pages.

Bicycles are not allowed on rail replacement bus services at any time, unless fully folded. More travel advice for your replacement bus journey is available by selecting the Train Operating Company you are travelling with here

Trains to and from Clapham Junction

    Description

There is a fault on a train at Clapham Junction which means the southbound line is disrupted.

Train services running to and from this station may be delayed. Disruption is expected until 18:30

    Alternative Travel Advice:

You can use your ticket on TfL London buses throughout the London Victoria, Balham and Streatham areas

How is this currently affecting the train service?

Some Southbound trains on the Southern network through Clapham Junction have been delayed due to a train having experienced a fault on Platform 15.

This has caused a queue of other trains to build up behind it. The train involved, the 16:50 Southern service from London Victoria to London Bridge, has now moved and is running non-stop from Clapham Junction to London Bridge.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

The faulty train experienced issues with its bodyside cameras, which are used to enable the drivers to check the doors and side of the train are clear of passengers before departing from stations. Unfortunately an electronic reset has been unsuccessful, but the train has been sent non-stop to its destination to work around the fault and avoid delaying other trains.
