    Description

    A fire near the railway earlier today between Beeston and Attenborough is causing disruption to trains between Nottingham and Derby / Leicester. Trains may be delayed by up to 45 minutes or cancelled until approximately 18:00.

    Some CrossCountry services may be terminated or started back from Derby.

    Alternative travel advice for CrossCountry customers:
    You may use your ticket on the following services:

    • East Midlands Trains between Nottingham and Chesterfield / Derby.
    • Northern between Nottingham and Chesterfield.
    • Nottingham Trams (NET) services between Nottingham and Beeston.

    Passengers travelling travelling between Nottingham and Derby may travel via Chesterfield.

    Alternative travel advice for East Midlands Trains customers:
    You may use your ticket on the following services:

    • LNER services to / from Grantham where you can change to make connections to London Kings Cross.
    • Cross Country between Chesterfield and Derby. East Midlands Trains services between Nottingham and Chesterfield remain unaffected.
    • Nottingham Trams (NET) services between Nottingham and Beeston.

    Amended service in the Motherwell area on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May

    Routes affected

    All routes through Motherwell

    Description

    Engineering work is taking place between Glasgow Central and Motherwell, closing some lines.

    Caledonian Sleeper:

    On Friday 24 May, the 23:50 London Euston to Glasgow Central / Edinburgh will be diverted via Dumfries / Carstairs and will not call at Carstairs or Motherwell.

    CrossCountry:

    CrossCountry services to / from Glasgow Central will be diverted and unable to call at Motherwell. Customers may use alternative services between Glasgow Central and Motherwell.

    London North Eastern Railway:

    Services to / from Glasgow Central will not run between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh. Customers should use ScotRail services between Glasgow Central and Motherwell and replacement buses will run between Motherwell and Edinburgh.

    ScotRail:

    Saturday:

    Trains between Glasgow Central and Lanark will be diverted via Holytown and will terminate at Wishaw. Buses will replace trains between Bellshill and Lanark, calling at Motherwell, Shieldmuir, Wishaw, Carluke and Lanark.

    Trains will not run between Glasgow Central and Motherwell. Customers are advised to take Glasgow Central to Wishaw services and change at Bellshill for a bus connection to / from Motherwell.

    Trains to / from Motherwell from Balloch / Dalmuir via Whifflet will be revised to start / terminate at Whifflet. Buses will replace trains between Whifflet and Motherwell.

    Buses will replace trains between Glasgow Central and Edinburgh, calling at all stations.

    Sunday:

    Trains between Glasgow Central and Lanark will be diverted via Holytown and will terminate at Wishaw. Buses will replace trains between Bellshill and Lanark, calling at Motherwell, Shieldmuir, Wishaw, Carluke and Lanark.

    Trains will not run between Glasgow Central and Motherwell. Customers are advised to take Glasgow Central to Wishaw services and change at Bellshill for a bus connection to / from Motherwell.

    Trains to / from Motherwell from Balloch / Dalmuir via Whifflet will be revised to start / terminate at Whifflet. Buses will replace trains between Whifflet and Motherwell.

    TransPennine Express:

    Saturday:

    A reduced service will run between Carlisle / Lockerbie and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh, with some trains being replaced by buses between Carlisle / Lockerbie and Glasgow Central / Edinburgh.

    Sunday:

    Buses will replace trains between:

    • Oxenholme and Carlisle.
    • Carlisle and Edinburgh.

    Customers to / from Glasgow can use Virgin Trains buses.

    Virgin Trains:

    Saturday:

    Trains to / from Glasgow Central will be diverted via Manchester Piccadilly and Bolton, then terminate at Carlisle.

    Replacement road transport will operate between Carlisle and Glasgow Central.

    Sunday:

    Trains to / from Glasgow Central will be diverted via Manchester Piccadilly and Bolton, then terminate at Lancaster.

    Replacement road transport will operate between Lancaster and Glasgow Central.
