Improving access at Beeston station
Work has started on a multi-million pound project to improve accessibility at Beeston station.
The project will see two new lifts installed, providing unobstructed, step-free access between platforms 1 and 2 at Beeston station, allowing for easier passenger journeys.
As part of the work, the existing platform 1 staircase will be removed and replaced with a new set of stairs which will be incorporated into the Meadow Road flyover above the station.
The upgrades are scheduled to be completed by autumn 2024, and when finished, the length of the step-free route will be reduced, making it easier and safer for passengers as they travel by train.
During the project, a temporary diversion will be implemented for passengers going from one side of the station to the other; the new route will be clearly signposted.
Please allow plenty of time to walk between the platforms, as this will add approximately 7 minutes on to your journey.
Thank you for your patience whilst this work is carried out.
