Changes to train times Southampton Central – Bournemouth

Saturday 13 – Friday 19 February 2021

Network Rail will be carrying out major track improvement work in the Southampton Central area.

The work will involve a major enhancement of the track and signalling on this busy route and will help to:

  • ensure the continued safe operation of the railway
  • improve performance and reliability.

An amended timetable will run from Saturday 13 – Friday 19 February. During this time rail replacement road transport will operate between:

  • Eastleigh – Southampton Central – Southampton Airport Parkway – Bournemouth (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Southampton Airport Parkway and Bournemouth (Monday – Friday)

There will also be some preliminary and follow up works taking place on the weekends of 30-31 January and 27-28 February with rail replacement road transport in operation between Eastleigh - Southampton Airport Parkway -Southampton Central - Bournemouth.

Changes to train times Par - Truro  

Monday 1 – Monday 5 March & Saturday 13 – Sunday 28 March 2021

Network Rail will be carrying out a series of  track improvement works in the Cornwall area.

The work will involve track renewals and bridge repairs on this route to ensure the continued safe operation of the railway.

An amended timetable will run from:

  • Monday 1 – Friday 5 March
  • Saturday 13 – Sunday 28 March

During this time rail replacement road transport will operate between:

  • Par – Truro from Monday 1 to Friday 5 March
  • Liskeard – Bodmin Parkway – Lostwithiel – Par weekend 13-14 March.
  • Plymouth – St Austell weekends of 13-14, 20-21 and 27-28 March
  • Plymouth – Liskeard – Bodmin Parkway – Lostwthiel – Par weekends 20-21 and 27-28 March.

A reduced train service will operate between Plymouth and Penzance during the week.

  3. ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR TRAVEL – Please leave in plenty of time before your train departure. There may be one way systems and queues at stations that may add time to your journey.
  4. RESERVE A SEAT Please book your seat reservation before you travel with CrossCountry. If you do not book a reservation you may not be able to travel. For more information on how to reserve your seat please see here.
  5. WEAR A FACE COVERING – It is mandatory to wear a face covering when passing through a railway station and when travelling on our services, unless you are exempt* £6,400 maximum fines are being issued by British Transport Police to people who do not wear a face covering. See our FAQs for more information
  6. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE – Please keep your distance from other passengers and our colleagues.
  7. WASH YOUR HANDS – Please wash your hands before and after travelling.
