To CrossCountry, Social Value is doing the right thing. It is the positive change we effect on wider society, whether that be the communities we serve, the people who power our business, or the customers who take us on their journey. It is caring passionately about our impact on society and our planet. It is leveraging the vastness and diversity of our geographical rail network to meaningfully contribute to wellbeing of the Great British public in both the present and long term.

In our Social Value report, we will outline the Social Value impact of our operations on our employees, the environment, and the communities we serve.

The Social Value measured is captured for the 2024-25 Rail Year from the 1st April 2024 to the 31st March 2025. Some of the Social Value captured in this report is therefore based on estimates.

As Great Britain’s longest distance train company, CrossCountry has a unique role in the lives of many communities through the services we provide. Each day we connect tens of thousands of people to loved ones, friends, family and colleagues, and through our services we remove the need for many road and air journeys that otherwise would have been required. Therefore, Social Value is intrinsic to our operation, but it also informs the decisions we make as a business to ensure that we are as sustainable as possible both now and in the future.
