CrossCountry Regional Director, John Robson, is set to undertake a 14-mile walk between Lichfield Trent Valley and Hednesford to raise money for local charity, WAY Widowed and Young, who offer support to those who are widowed under the age of 51.
John will be joined by over 15 railway colleagues for the walk, which will take place on Wednesday 29 March. It also marks John’s birthday.
The charity was chosen by regional colleagues, who were keen to support a charity in the area and provides vital support to those who have lost their partners at a young age.
John Robson said: “I’m really looking forward to this challenge and raising for such a great cause. Young widows often face significant challenges and it’s important that we support them in any way we can. I hope that the walk will raise awareness and encourage people to donate.”
So far, John has raised over £400 with more pledged, including a £500 donation from CrossCountry and has set a target of £1,000.
