From the moment you plan your travel to the time you finish it, we want travelling with us to be a pleasure. At times, we have to alter our timetables or provide road transport to replace train services due to engineering work or other operational requirements. We may also offer taxis in some circumstances. We plan most of this work well in advance and will try to notify you when you book directly with us. However, this may not be possible for tickets booked through other Train Operating Companies or third-party retailers. We will always do our best to keep any disruption to your journey to a minimum.
Some restrictions and considerations apply when we operate road transport:
- Rail replacement buses may leave earlier than the normal time; please check times before you travel
- Customers must have a valid train ticket before boarding
- It will not be possible to carry e-scooters, cycles (except folding) or dogs (except Guide Dogs)
- Pushchairs and prams should be folded down where possible
- Wheelchairs can be carried onto buses
- Alcohol is not allowed
- There are no toilets available on buses
- If required, alternative accessible transport will be arranged by station staff
- The majority of our rail replacement buses are accessible as we work hard to ensure PSVAR-compliant vehicles are used.
