What is the Two Together Railcard?

The Two Together Railcard is a way for two people who frequently travel together to save money when travelling by train. Offering 1/3 off rail fares for both named people on the card when you travel as a duo, you can make the most of getting the train. There are no limitations on who you can buddy up with for the Two Together Railcard - whether you travel regularly with a significant other, family member, friend, or a colleague.

By travelling together, you can enjoy more for your money on days out, UK staycations, commuting, and more!

Benefits of the Two Together Railcard

If you often get the train with somebody else, perhaps a friend you enjoy daytrips with or your spouse, you can save money on the cost of your train fare with the Two Together Railcard. Costing just £30 per year, which you can divide between the two cardholders to be just £15 each, both cardholders can enjoy 1/3 off their rail fares when travelling together!

What's more, Two Together Railcard holders are entitled to a range of affiliate discounts, so you can make the most of even more savings.

The best thing about the Two Together Railcard is that there is no upper age limit - as long as you are both over the age of 16, and travel together when using the Railcard, you are eligible to access discounted train tickets!

How to Buy the Two Together Railcard

The easiest way to apply for your Two Together Railcard is online. All you need is two separate digital photographs of the cardholders, as well as a payment card. You can purchase a Digital Railcard, which you can use by downloading the Railcard app, or a physical Railcard, which will be delivered through the post.

You can also purchase the Two Together Railcard at staffed ticket offices. If you are applying in person, you will need to bring passport-sized photographs of each cardholder as well as a payment card and a completed application form.

How to Use Your Two Together Railcard

The most important thing to remember about using a Two Together Railcard is that you may only use it when both cardholders are travelling together. When you're catching trains as a pair, you can benefit from the discount!

If you are buying tickets online, using the CrossCountry app, or at a ticket machine, select your Railcard to apply the discount. If you are buying tickets from a ticket office, let your attendant know to apply your Railcard discount before making your payment.

Always make sure to have your Railcard with you when travelling in order to show attendants and staff when asked. If you have a Digital Railcard, ensure that your phone is adequately charged before travelling.
