Cross-border operator CrossCountry has confirmed that its full train service to and from Glasgow Central will restart on Wednesday 25 March, following the full reopening of the station’s high‑level platforms.
The station has been closed since Sunday 8 March after a significant fire on Union Street, with an exclusion zone in place limiting access to the station.
With the station returning to full operation from Wednesday, CrossCountry services timetabled to operate to and from Glasgow that have been starting and terminating at Edinburgh will once again run through to Glasgow Central as normal.
Shiona Rolfe, CrossCountry’s Managing Director, said: “I’m incredibly grateful for the patience shown by everyone who has been impacted by the significant fire at Glasgow Central, and for the hard work of industry colleagues to get the station fully reopened. We very much look forward to welcoming customers back on board at Glasgow.”
Customers planning to travel from Wednesday 25 March onwards are encouraged to check their journey in advance on the CrossCountry website or with National Rail Enquiries.
