As the UK's second most populous city, Birmingham is a vibrant hub for different cultures and cuisines, priding itself on an endless and exciting selection of restaurants waiting to welcome you. As we approach the most romantic holiday of the year, we’re looking at those must-visit establishments that will make you want to say ‘I love you’ - whether that’s to your plate or to your date!

Come with us to some of our favourite tried and true date night spots in Birmingham, ideal for Valentine's Day and beyond.

Riva Blu

You’ll find Riva Blu awaiting you on Temple Row, where its welcoming ambience and teal interior will transport you to the scenic beauty of the Southern Italian sea - an unexpected delight on a winter evening in Birmingham! Continue on this sun-kissed journey with some of Riva Blu’s most popular dishes, like Linguine Frutti Di Mare with wild red king prawns and mussels and Polipetti Alla Luciana, a mouth-watering Neapolitan braised octopus stew.

Riva Blue has an excellent cocktail menu too, which features  Italian classics, like the negroni and americano, as well as signature cocktails that will really make you feel the love. Our standout is the ‘Cry Me a Riva’, made with Absolut watermelon vodka & passion fruit liqueur with raspberries, peach, lemon & cranberry. Riva Blu has an additional location in Leeds which you can reach by direct train with CrossCountry.

The Lost and Found

Contrary to its name, The Lost and Found  is easy to find! The decadent building is located on one of the busiest streets in Birmingham – Bennetts Hill. The beautifully ornate Victorian interior sets the perfect stage for a romantic candle-lit evening. The Lost and Found offers a selection of delicious culinary treats, such as the tempting Maple Glazed Pork Chop or the luxurious Black Truffle Rigatoni. They also have an impressive steak selection that caters to every taste, all the way up to a 12oz Argentinian Ribeye. With a luxurious menu to treat yourself to something special, this is an ideal date night spot.

The Lost and Found has various additional locations across the UK, including Bristol and Sheffield

Diners are surrounded by a canopy of blossom illuminated by moody purple light, creating the perfect backdrop for Valentine's Day photo opportunities. The real star of the show lies in the beautifully designed A La Carte menu, which allows diners to choose three dishes that come together to create the Moon Stand Lunch, a delectably layered dining experience. Some highlights of this delicious menu include Tuna Sashimi Blossom, Wild Mushroom Spring Rolls, and Duck and Watermelon Salad.
