CrossCountry have recently launched its partnership with 6VT Community Rail Partnership, providing funding to the UK’s only youth partnership.
Founded in 2018, 6VT CRP already had links with the railway having worked on rail safety initiatives with Network Rail. They are now looking to utilise funding from CrossCountry to advance several projects initiated by the young people who run the partnership.
6VT are based in Edinburgh where they provide space for young people to come together to access a range of services and personal development opportunities which aim to improve young peoples’ lives, and support them to reach their potential. Working mainly with 12 -21 year olds, 6VT also run a youth café that has helped more than 160,000 young people since opening in 1994.
Ben Simkin, Regional Director for North East and Scotland, said ‘We’re delighted to be able to support 6VT and the exciting projects they have planned over the next couple of years. We will be working closely with them as they bring communities together across South East Scotland.’
