CrossCountry Customer and Communities Investment Funding has delivered a brand new digital information 'totem' displays at Belper’s town centre bus station. The high-tech totem meets Derbyshire County Council’s aspirations to provide additional improved integrated public transport and tourism information near to rail and bus stations in busy market towns.

The display is jointly funded by CrossCountry, Derbyshire County Council and bus operator Trentbarton. As well as providing real-time local bus service information, people can access real time rail information through links to National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner and also to CrossCountry and EMR websites.

David Jones, Stakeholder Liaison Manager, East Midlands & Anglia, CrossCountry said: "The new digital information totems that we helped to fund at Belper and Matlock rail stations in 2022 have been a great success with local residents and tourists in these important market towns, which are gateways to Derbyshire Dales and the Peak District National Park.

CrossCountry believes that offering better joined-up public transport information is key to getting people to leave their cars at home. We were delighted to help fund an additional totem display this year outside Belper’s busy bus station so that people arriving by bus from places like Ripley and Wirksworth can easily obtain up to the minute information about onwards rail services.”
