Last month Community Rail partners in the North East joined together to undergo training with professionals from the media training company CoComms.
Funded by CrossCountry’s Community Engagement Fund, Tyne Valley CRP, Community Rail Cumbria, Hadrian's Wall Youth Ambassadors and Haltwhistle Partnership experienced a series of activities in an action pack day to develop their skills in communicating through social channels and creative content.
Facilitated by CoComms, the training provided an in-depth look at media through the eyes of an experienced journalist. Attendees received insightful advice on how to create materials for publication and ways to make them stand out to have a greater chance of being picked up by the media.
Fiona Forsythe, Community Officer at Tyne Valley CRP, commented “CoComms were fantastic in giving us support and activities, which really challenged how we will interact with the media. The training has given us all a better opportunity of creating more engaging content to promote the areas we work in.”
