CrossCountry and our industry partners have worked with Tyne Valley Community Rail Partnership to fund the refurbished waiting room on platform 2 at Haltwhistle Station, with a new display featuring Hadrian’s Wall.
The recently refurbished room is now adorned with colourful artwork featuring some of the Hadrian’s Wall country attractions. The panels provide useful information with QR codes providing links to websites and walking and cycling times to local places of interest
Close the Hadrian’s Wall, Haltwhistle Station is a popular rail destination for people wanting to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site. There’s a map featuring Hadrian’s Wall country, including a feature about local electric bike hire with a pre-booking facility so a bike is ready when you get off the train. The accessible AD122 bus can also be accessed from the stop outside the station.
Tyne Valley CRP have worked with Hadrian’s Wall attractions, Vindolanda, the Roman Army Museum, Housesteads, The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre and the local community to create this informative and welcoming display.
