Crewe to Manchester Community Rail Partnership (CRP) have teamed up with communications and training agency, CoComms to provide media training for volunteers.
Funded by CrossCountry’s Community Engagement Fund, seven volunteers from across the Crewe to Manchester CRP and South East Manchester CRP took part in a series of practical sessions to develop their confidence for communicating effectively with the media, as well as understanding filming and producing a short video for social media.
The course is one of many that has been organised to support community rail partnerships across CrossCountry’s network. The sessions have been run by Andy Hitchcock, the Director of Communications Training at CoComms, and supported by media expert, Carole Foster.
Stephen Forde, Community Rail Officer for Crewe to Manchester CRP, said ‘The volunteers from various friends groups from the Crewe to Manchester and South East Manchester CRPs had a great day learning new skills and filming themselves.’
