CrossCountry recently joined industry partners for a rail safety event at Shildon's Locomotion museum with 200 primary schoolchildren from Darlington. The two-day event, held on 24-25 May, included educational sessions about trains, how to plan journeys and the importance of acting responsibly on the railway.
The children created rail safety graphics for a national competition and got to see the British Transport Police's operational vehicles and a drone demonstration. The event took place in the museum's Main Hall featuring historic rail vehicles, and was supported by CrossCountry, Network Rail, BTP, Northern, The Railway Children charity and Bishop Line Community Rail Partnership.
