Worcestershire Community Rail Partnership have created new ‘Rail Trails’ booklets to promote 100 miles of walks in the local area.
The leaflets and their promotion were funded by CrossCountry’s Community Engagement Funding (CCEF) alongside funding from the Partnership. You can pick them up at many destinations throughout the county including libraries, stations, tourist information centres and doctor’s surgeries.
The fifteen walking routes across four of the railway branch lines – Cotswold & Malvern Line, Wyre Valley Line, Arrow Valley Line and Saltway Line - were also posted across social media channels, promoting the environmental and health benefits of walking and using public transport instead of the car.
All the walks are free to download and are available as GPX route files for easy navigation. They have been tried and tested by Worcestershire Ramblers and promote linear and circular routes between railway stations.
