On Monday 16 May, community volunteers were joined by staff from Network Rail and train operators CrossCountry, West Midlands Railway, DRS and Avanti West Coast who all helped to transform the main planters at New Street station with patriotic colours.

The Friends of the Shakespeare Line (FoSL), a group of local volunteers who between them look after every railway station between Stratford-upon-Avon and Birmingham, has unleashed a blaze of red, white and blue floral gems at one of the entrances to Birmingham‘s New Street station.

CrossCountry’s West Midlands and North West colleagues Nick Chadwick, Vicky Pinson, Lynn Heath and Jody Ball lent their green fingers to make the displays ready for the upcoming jubilee weekend. The planters were weeded, the compost renewed, and the colourful plants were planted and watered.
