South East Lancashire Community Rail Partnership (SELCRP) collaborated with Community Rail Lancashire to develop a Bolton-specific project creating an exhibition of areas of interest along the line, funded by train operators CrossCountry and Northern.
SELCRP worked with the local community to nominate cultural, heritage and countryside places of interest across the borough, and then commissioned The University of Bolton students, recent graduates and local artists to produce multi-medium works including paintings, photography and creative writing to form the components of the exhibition.
The project’s aim was to inspire rail passengers to explore the areas surrounding stations and places of interest.
The exhibition which was produced for online as well as in-person audiences was on display at the P5 gallery at Bolton Station which also formed part of the Bolton Town of Culture Gala.
