CrossCountry have launched the UK’s first Sustainable Travel Educational Toolkit at the National Railway Museum in York.
In partnership with the Community Rail Education Network and the Decarbon8 Network, a series of ground breaking materials have been developed over the last six months that will support delivery of the national curriculum in teaching Key Stage Two students about sustainable travel.
These resources aim to encourage conversations around sustainability at home and influence the wider group of family and friends to choose sustainable travel. The toolkit is free for everyone to download from the Community Rail Network Website.
Ben Simkin, CrossCountry’s Regional Director North East and Scotland, said: “I’m proud we have been able to support the UK’s first sustainable travel education toolkit. The launch combines our objectives to be more sustainable and working alongside the communities that stretch across the length and breadth of our network.’
