We are delighted to have helped Hereward Community Rail Partnership (CRP) and Peterborough Civic Society put active travel visits to historic Peterborough firmly on the map. Four new walking & trail maps for Peterborough have been created, with a project grant from our Community Engagement Fund.
Four versions are available; City Centre Cathedral Walk, City Centre Heritage & Blue Plaque Walk, City Centre Green Walk and Riverside & Meadows Trail. Copies can be found at Hereward Community Rail Partnership’s website. Alternatively printed copies, in the form of a foldable leaflet, are planned to be available at Discover Peterborough (Peterborough Tourist Board) and at Peterborough railway station.
The new walking routes complement the existing larger Peterborough walking and cycling map which CrossCountry supported in 2025, and show more detailed explanations of the routes, with some context to them at each of the stopping places. They are very visitor friendly with something for all abilities and for all lengths of time people will be spending in the city.
CrossCountry has also collaborated with Hereward CRP and other train operators serving Ely station to produce a new Ely Cycling & Walking Map.
