Network Rail will be carrying out major engineering work between Leeds and York from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 1 November 2026. The work is part of the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) which is a multi-billion pound, transformative, long-term railway infrastructure programme that will improve connectivity in the North.
Additionally, work will also be taking place at weekends between York and Darlington.
Timetable Summary
Monday 26 – Friday 30 October. Trains will not call at Wakefield Westgate and Leeds but will call additionally at Doncaster. Rail services will operate between Leeds and York. Journey times between Birmingham New Street – North East and Scotland will remain unchanged.
Saturday 24 – Sunday 25 October. Saturday 31 October – Sunday 1 November. Rail replacement road transport will operate between:
- Leeds and Darlington
- York and Darlington
Rail services will operate between Leeds and York.
Saturday 31 October – Sunday 1 November.
Rail replacement road transport will operate between Leeds, York and Darlington.
Monday 26 – Friday 30 October. Trains will operate between Birmingham New Street and Leeds.
