How to Get a Senior Railcard
With an average of almost £100 saved, there is never a bad time to get a Senior Railcard, and it is easy to get one. As long as you are sixty or over, you are eligible to apply!
You can purchase a Digital Railcard, which you use through the free Railcard app. If you purchase a physical Railcard, that will be delivered in the post.

You can purchase a Senior Railcard at staffed ticket offices or a National Rail-licensed Travel Agent, if you prefer.
What will you need?
- A completed application form.
- A valid debit or credit card.
- Proof of eligibility, such as a Passport, Driving Licence, or EEA National Identity Card.
- A passport-style photo.
How to Use a Senior Railcard
- Once you have your Senior Railcard, you can start booking train tickets with CrossCountry and enjoy your discount! The easiest way to book tickets is online or on CrossCountry app.
- Follow the same steps as above when purchasing tickets at the train station, or ask a member of staff to help apply the Senior Railcard savings to your booking.
- Make sure that you always have your Railcard with you when travelling. If you have a digital Senior Railcard, you will need to ensure your device is adequately charged to avoid being issued a penalty fare.
