The following major engineering work will take place on the CrossCountry network. The majority of engineering work takes place at weekends and Bank Holidays, details of which can be found in the Travel Updates section, however, there are projects which will impact the train service on weekdays. These are detailed below.
Changes to train times Taunton – Tiverton Parkway – Exeter St Davids
Monday 28 September – Friday 2 October 2020
Network Rail will be carrying out major track improvement work in the Tiverton Parkway area.
The work will involve a major undertaking of track renewals on this busy route and will help to:
-
-
- Ensure the continued safe operation of the railway
- Improve reliability.
-
An amended timetable will run from Monday 28 September - Friday 2 October 2020. During this time rail replacement road transport will operate between
Taunton – Tiverton Parkway – Exeter St Davids.
Road transport
Replacement road transport will depart from the front of Tiverton Parkway and Exeter St Davids and the north side station car park, near the ramp access to Platform 5/6 at Taunton.
Car park at Taunton
Due to the ongoing refurbishment works at Taunton, spaces at the station car park will be temporarily reduced to allow us to operate replacement road transport. Only the higher level of the main station car park will be available during the track improvement works.
Car park spaces for disabled customers will be temporarily moved to the location of the 20-minute waiting bays, nearer the entrance to the station. The total number of spaces will also be temporarily reduced from six to three.
Pick-up spaces will be temporarily relocated to a small car park opposite the Kilkenny car park. This will be clearly signposted. Drop-off spaces will be temporarily relocated to the taxi bays.
Cycles
Rail replacement road transport will not be able to convey any cycles.
