Indoor areas
At Newport station, there is an indoor waiting room within the station, which is accessible to passengers Monday-Sunday between 06:00 and 22:00.
There are also toilets available at the station, including accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. Toilets are located on Platform 1, Platform 2, and Platform 4.
You can also find a newsagent on Platforms 2 and 3, and refreshment facilities on Platforms 2 and 3, to keep you fed, watered, and entertained on your journey.
Accessibility features
Accessible toilets are available, with National Key toilets located on Platform 2, operated by a radar key.
The station also has step-free access to all platforms. Access to the platforms may be from the street in some instances, while other access may be via ramps within the station. Passengers will also find accessible ticket barriers, counters, and ramps for train access if needed.
For passengers with hearing disabilities, an induction loop is in operation.
Accessible parking is available, with up to 16 spaces in the two car parks at Newport station.
Ticket office
There is a ticket office in operation at Newport station, which is open Monday – Friday between 05:45 – 20:00; Saturdays between 06:30 – 20:30; and on Sundays between 08:00 – 19:45.
At the ticket office, you can collect pre-paid tickets and purchase tickets from attendants or ticket machines. Passengers can also top-up Smartcards at the ticket office, but cannot purchase Smartcards.

Travelling to Newport station by car
There are two car parks available at Newport station, which are operated by APCOA.
The High Street car park is available to use Monday-Friday, with 20 spaces available including 2 accessible car parking spaces.
The Godfrey Road car park is available to use Monday-Sunday, with 246 spaces available including 14 accessible car parking spaces.
Both car parks have CCTV in operation. Both car parks are accredited with a Disabled Parking Award from DMUK, offering accessible car parking equipment when required.
Travelling to Newport station by bicycle
If you are travelling to Newport by bicycle, there are plenty of places to store your bike at the station. There are 62 stands in total, split across two locations. You can find storage for 50 bicycles on Platform 1, with an additional 12 places located outside the Godfrey Road entrance.

Travelling to Newport station by public transport
Newport bus station is located nearby to Newport station, offering onward links to South Wales and beyond. The bus station is a short distance (8 minutes on foot) along a main road.
The local community and support network
Nearby to Newport station, there are plenty of businesses, coffee shops, and hotels where passengers can find assistance if needed. There is a Costa Coffee located close to the station, as well as a Travelodge with a 24-hour reception.
Local to Newport is the Newport Access Group, working towards a more accessible city.
