At CrossCountry, we know that any journey is better with snacks. That’s why we’ve got a great range of regional food and drink suppliers on board for passengers to enjoy. And if you’ve tucked into a sandwich with us before, you’ll have heard of our partner Tiffin Sandwiches. As one of the UK’s largest independent food-to-go manufacturers, Tiffin Sandwiches has partnered with CrossCountry for several years. Serving four of their tastiest sandwich options, both Tiffin Sandwiches and CrossCountry are proud to be fuelling your rail adventures.

Sustainable Snacking

Based in Bradford, Yorkshire, Tiffin Sandwiches has been crafting on-the-go sandwiches, wraps, baguettes, and more for over 20 twenty years. They’ve been able to keep thousands of tummies full, everywhere from universities to hospitals, schools to airlines. And they do this through their network of sites in Bradford, London, Milton Keynes, and Chester – giving them the power to distribute over 20- million items each year.

They are dedicated to making sure that their operations have as little impact on the environment as possible. Focusing on creating a better, more sustainable planet for everyone, they have reduced their plastic consumption by 70% since 2019. In 2020, Tiffin Sandwiches was one of the first to move to the plastic-free packaging NatureFlex. And since then, they’ve managed to reduce their plastic consumption a further 25%, saving over 70 seventy tonnes of plastic.

Tiffin isn’t just focusing on packaging, though. The company has been successfully running on 100% renewable energy and have expanded their fleet of vehicles to include their first Mercedes-Benz eSprinter.

Collaboration with CrossCountry

Having recently updated our on-board catering offering , it was important that we found suppliers local to our network, who shared our vision of delivering great food, nationwide. This is a passion that Tiffin Sandwiches shares at the core of their business. From using local suppliers to recruiting local talent, they are committed to giving back to their community.

“We are a sandwich manufacturer based in Bradford and we also have depots across the whole of the UK. We have the absolute pleasure of servicing CrossCountry trains – we’ve been a long-term partner with them and it’s an absolute delight that we get our products all over the country using their amazing service” – Steven Dunn, Customer Service Manager, Tiffin Sandwiches.

So, not only do Tiffin Sandwiches share our vision, but they bring a delicious range of products on board that promises to keep every one of our customers full and ready for adventure. And with more to come from CrossCountry and your favourite regional businesses, make sure you keep an eye on CrossCountry’s socials  for the latest updates.

Fuel your Adventure!

As Tiffin grows their product range, so will we. Having recently launched their new Tiger Tin Loaf, we’re excited to stock this on board already. With this new addition, our customers now have the choice of four delicious Tiffin sandwiches to fuel their adventures. The only difficult decision is which one.

Our range now includes Cheese Sandwiches, Tuna Crunch Tin Bread, and Vegan Pepperoni & Mozzarella Ciabattas. But whatever our customers choose, each sandwich is made from ingredients that are always top shelf quality, with as many local ingredients as possible.
