Getting to Birmingham International Airport by train

Whether you’ve travelled directly or changed trains at Birmingham New Street, travelling to Birmingham International is made easy with CrossCountry. From the station, you can jump on the free and frequent 'Air-Rail link', which will get you to the airport terminal in just two minutes.

The speedy service operates between 03:30 and 00:30 hours daily with services running frequently. Between 00:30 and 02:00 hours there is a courtesy bus in operation.  If you are flying during these hours, use bus stop D from the Airport Terminal and bus stop Sb at the Train Station.

The Air-Rail Link arrives on the first floor of the Airport. To check in, you’ll need to use the lift or escalator to the ground floor.

Restaurants in Birmingham Airport

Relax before your flight with a tasty meal in one of the Birmingham Airport’s great restaurants. Act like you’re already on holiday at Bottega Prosecco Bar where you can enjoy delicious wines and lights bites before you fly. Wetherspoons is cheap and cheerful, serving traditional breakfasts, British pub classics and fresh paninis, as well as a wide range of craft beer, wines and cocktails.

Amenities in Birmingham Airport

Birmingham Airport has all the facilities you may need for a comfortable and pleasant trip. If you’re travelling with children, you’ll want to visit the Sky Zone areas. The interactive play areas are always open and provide games for children of all ages. The Sky Zone areas are in the departure lounge – one by Gate 3 in the South Lounge and one by Gate 54 in the North Lounge.

The multi- faith prayer room is used with mutual respect by people of every faith and none. Washing facilities are available in the toilets on the same floor next to the TUI check-in desks and opposite the ICE facility. Smoking or the smoking of e-cigarettes is not permitted within the terminal building. The smoking area in the Departure Lounge is accessed through Factory Bar and Kitchen. The entrance is clearly marked. You’ll need to ask the bar for the key code to access the smoking area.

Wherever you are within the terminal, you will be able to connect to free Wi-Fi for half hour slots. You simply have to login and your details will be saved for future visits.
