The Family & Friends Railcard is a great option when travelling with children by train. You can add up to four adults and four children (aged 5-15), and you don't need to be related! This means if you regularly travel with friends and their children, you can enjoy the savings together. With up to eight people taking advantage of the discount, you can enjoy even more days out.

The Railcard costs just £30 for one year, or £70 if you buy the three-year option. For this, you get 1/3 off the cost of most train fares. You can enjoy more than just discounted train tickets, as the Family & Friends Railcard includes special offers on attractions and places to eat!

How to Buy a Family & Friends Railcard

You can choose between a Digital Railcard to use on the Railcard app, or a physical Railcard which will be sent to you in the post. Whichever option you choose, you will need the details of yourself & the second cardholder as well as a payment card.

If you buy a Digital Railcard, you will be sent a code and can start using your Railcard as soon as your application is processed. However, a physical Railcard may take a few days to arrive and you cannot use your discount until you have your card.
